Case Fluido: Caring for managers is a strategic leadership choice

Our long-term partner Fluido is a globally operating expert organisation that helps companies build smoother processes and better customer experiences through Salesforce technology. Fluido does not sell products, it sells expertise, time and thinking. That is why people are at the very core of everything the company does.

When a business is built on experts, leadership plays a particularly important role. Managers support not only their teams, but also the culture, the sense of meaning at work and the smoothness of everyday operations. This understanding has been central to Fluido’s thinking for a long time.

Lifted and Fluido share a development journey that spans several years. Over time, we have supported Fluido’s managers and leadership team in areas such as developing self-awareness, strengthening coaching-based leadership skills and clarifying leadership principles grounded in Fluido’s own assessments. Our partnership is built on a shared value base: genuine care for people, human-centred leadership and long-term development.

When Fluido wanted to further strengthen the support provided to managers in light of upcoming organisational changes, it felt natural to continue the collaboration with Lifted and deepen managers’ capabilities and support. To achieve this, we co-created the Fluido Leadership Academy.

Genuine care at the core

The primary goal of the most recent year-long coaching programme was Fluido’s strong commitment to taking care of its people. A clear people-first mindset is deeply embedded in Fluido’s culture. Organisational changes, growing teams and an increasingly international operating environment have introduced new demands for managerial work. Hybrid leadership, remote teams and cultural differences require more advanced interaction skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to lead through change.

To continue meeting these evolving expectations, Fluido wanted to elevate managers capabilities to a new level.

Organisational changes naturally raise questions, emotions and new requirements for managers. Through the coaching programme, Fluido also wanted to ensure that every manager feels seen, heard and supported. The programme was both a concrete action and a symbolic message that managers, and through them every team and individual, truly matter to the organisation.

Space to pause and grow

The year-long coaching programme delivered with Lifted was built around joint workshops, case sessions and group coaching. Theory and practice went hand in hand: managers worked on their own real-life situations in a safe and confidential environment.

Key themes included:

  • leading through change
  • feedback and interaction
  • managing underperformance
  • emotional intelligence and navigating difficult situations
  • managers’ own wellbeing and resilience

Group coaching proved to be the most impactful element of the programme. Peer support and the opportunity to share experiences were seen as particularly valuable. For many managers, the group offered a rare space to pause in the midst of a busy everyday reality and to realise they were not alone with their challenges. The atmosphere was warm, open and psychologically safe. Many described the coaching as a grounding counterbalance to hectic daily work, a space where it was allowed to breathe and be unfinished.

The programme was supported by a digital platform that felt intuitive and distinctly “Fluido-like”, providing continuity and structure between sessions.

Trust, connection and shared insights

Over the course of the year, interaction among managers strengthened clearly. In the early stages, discussions were more cautious, but over time dialogue, commenting and collaboration increased even beyond the coaching groups. Managers formed a stronger internal network, and participants had the opportunity to get to know colleagues across the global organisation whom they might not have previously interacted with.

One key insight was that there is no single right way to be a good manager. Leadership is a process of growth, and everyone brings their own personality and strengths into the role. The programme reinforced the understanding that many different leadership styles can thrive under shared principles.

Impact in everyday work

The effects of the coaching programme are clearly visible in managers’ day-to-day work. One of the most significant successes has been the sense of connection that emerged.

Interaction has improved not only within the coaching groups, but also across teams and the wider organisation. Shared experiences and practical tips from managers have found their way into team-level practices, helping to build a more open and collaborative working culture. Managers gained tools not only for themselves, but also to better support their teams – visible, for example, in improved feedback practices and more confident handling of difficult situations.

As a result of this participatory, tailor-made coaching programme designed around Fluido’s specific needs, managers feel more supported and more strongly connected to a broader community. This has strengthened their role as key pillars of the organisation. The programme has created a solid foundation on which Fluido’s ongoing development and organisational work can continue.

The journey also reinforced Fluido’s understanding that investing in managers has a wide-reaching impact across the entire organisation. The development of one manager directly affects the everyday experience, wellbeing and sense of meaningful work of many others.

Managers’ roles became even clearer: for an individual employee, a manager can be the single most important person in their working life. Recognising and supporting this responsibility was a central goal of the programme and a strong message of appreciation.

A long-term partnership

Fluido sees supporting managers as continuous work. Looking ahead, emerging themes include the impact of artificial intelligence on work, managing cognitive load and leading wellbeing in increasingly demanding expert environments.

From the very beginning, Lifted has been seen as a genuine partner. This has meant open, honest conversations using the right words also when challenges have arisen. The coaching programme evolved along the way as needs changed, living alongside Fluido’s organisation. A year of shared work created a strong foundation for the future and further clarified the importance of giving managers time and space to grow.

When leadership is built on a people-first mindset and culture is developed with long-term commitment, the results are sustainable for both people and business. This collaboration is about partnership, growth and strengthening a shared culture.

At Lifted, we are proud to have walked this journey together with Fluido.
